Scott Fybush has more than 30 years of professional experience across all facets of broadcasting. Starting as a radio newsman (WCAP, Lowell MA; WBZ, Boston; WXXI, Rochester NY), Fybush soon branched out into covering the industry, reporting and writing for his own NorthEast Radio Watch and Top of the Tower Podcast, as well as for Radio World, M Street Journal/Radio Journal, RadioInsight and Current.

Under the Fybush Media LLC banner, Fybush provides consulting services including signal expansion strategy, allocations, FCC filings and station brokerage, a breadth of expertise matched by few others in the industry.

Based in Rochester, New York, Fybush is frequently on the road, chronicling the history and technology of broadcast facilities across the country and around the world.

He has visited more than 3,000 radio station studios and transmitter sites, documenting many of them on the Site of the Week feature of his Fybush.com website and the annual Tower Site Calendar, a radio industry tradition since 2001. Fybush is a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, the National Association of Media Brokers, the Association of Public Radio Engineers, and a frequent presenter at industry conferences.

Fybush Media boasts a track record of client success that stretches over more than two decades. In the 2000s, Fybush worked closely with Vermont Public Radio to strategize the addition of a second statewide public radio network, including the acquisition of commercial signals and obtaining new noncommercial construction permits.

During the translator filing windows of 2017-2018, Fybush worked with broadcasters across the northeast to buy and sell existing translators and license new translators for clients including WRVO Public Radio in upstate New York, WXXI Public Media in Rochester, Blount CommunicationsPhoenix CommunicationsBlue Jey BroadcastingPittsburgh Public Media and Loud Media.

In the noncommercial filing window of 2021, successful Fybush Media clients included Radio Catskill/WJFFPittsfield Community Cable, Essential Public Media (Minnesota), and Southern California Tribal Chairmens’ Association.
